The Thursday Quiz
This week's edition should be a good one for all of you brilliant minds out there.

The Quiz This Week
Last night was another easy night. I was closing and I got a first round of 4 tables then after only had two more. The restaurant is dead after 8:30 these mid week evenings. Fortunately though I had a 9 top that left me a very nice $66 on a $434 bill and another table that left me $28 on a $155 tab. At night's end , starting at 6:30 and getting out after the table of two campers left at 10:30 I walked out with $108. Not bad for 6 tables. We will see how tonight goes.

Answers to the Hard Quiz
Alright here are the answers.
1. Nebbiolo is the grape from the Piedmont region of Italy that makes the great Barolo.
2. "a la bouchere" is the name given to various dishes that will have a garnish of bone marrow.
3. Sole Colbert is sole of course filletted , then dipped in egg , covered with breadcrumbs , then cooked by frying it. So when you see Colbert know that it is prepared this way.
4. That wine that has a grapey fragrance is Muscat from the Loire Valley. There of course other Muscats that are sweet etc.. This Muscat is the dry one.
5. "a la Florentine" anything means with spinach somewhere accompanying the main feature.

The Weekly Quiz
It is Tuesday and I gotta do this quiz. Well actually I like to do it so here it goes. It is August already and soon the kids are back to school and I will be working for next summer's holiday again.

3. Okay here is a harder one. What country would you find a dish called Kholodetz? And what is it exactly?
4. There is a red wine grape known for it's tannin that is grown quite extensively in Uruguay. It's home is in the south of France. What is the name of the grape?
5. Used in the production of beer and the distillation of whiskey this is the term used for the coarse ground malted barley that is required to extract the sugars required for fermentation when mashed or mixed with hot water. What the name given to this coarse ground malted barley?
