Friday Nights are Terrible Now

The last two Fridays have been awful. I did 16 people tonight then I was cut and walked out with $82 which was pretty good considering my sales were not that great.

I think where I work it could be we do not reservations on Friday and Saturday so with the Christmas parties starting just about now we may even be busier during the work week than on Friday. Saturday should be okay though. With everyone just waiting for the Christmas party they may be avoiding going out on their own and just saving their money for presents.

Just not much money out there right now. The a la carte in December I do not think is going to be great. It will be better in January when the gift cards start coming in.

Oh well.....

The First Time In 10 Years

I got another call from work the following day on my second day off in a row. I called them back this time knowing there was no way I could get into work , unlike the night before when they found someone else by the time I called them back.

There is swimming and piano lessons going on so the car is needed at home on Wednesday. That is the day of the week I have to ask for off.

Anyway I call them back and they had called me to ask if I would like New Year's Eve off. I was dumbstruck to say the least. Sure I will have to work New Year's Day but like this is the first time in a decade since I won't have to work on the 31st. The place I am at is trying to get the single people to work that night and that only makes sense since they will be up all night anyway and I can go out for a nice dinner with the wife and kids that evening.

My wife still has to work in the morning but at least this time I can be home to wish her Happy New Year rather than the call from work.

The Christmas parties started last night it appears. Unfortunately my night was not so great as I had 7 women and 6 separate checks. I just collected the money and didn't bother seeing what the tip was but I guess it wasn't so great as I didn't walk out of there with what I should have.

But the good thing is it is getting busier. Bring on tonight and the weekend cause honestly I feel like I have had a month off it has been so slow.

And I have New Year's Eve off anyway.......How about that?
